The makers of the record "Orient und Okzident", the Mendelssohn Kammerorchester Leipzig with its soloist Kinan Azmeh, got to the bottom of this cultural flair with this direct-to-disc recording and created an atmosphere that immediately captivates the listener. The selection of the individual works represents a unique contrast. Works by Jean-Baptiste Lully or Ludwig van Beethoven, who absorbed the zeitgeist of their respective epochs and wrote oriental compositions according to European understanding, correspond to those of the Syrian clarinetist Kinan Azmeh, who, due to his origins, has a completely natural and original view of the fascinating Arab culture. This recording is a direct-to-disc recording from the Meistersaal of Emil Berliner Studios. Direct cuts are the result of intensive preparation and rehearsal time of the participating artists, but also of the sound engineers. The recording is completely analog and is cut directly into a coating film, which is then formed into a press die in a galvanic process. Each pressed record is therefore an original print of this recording.
