Friends of medieval and Renaissance music listen up: This release by Audionautes shows interpretations by the Swedish group "Joculatores Upsalienses", translated as the "Uppsala players". Founded in 1965, the ensemble specialises in the study of early music and plays both sacred and secular repertoire.
The recordings for "Early Music at Wik" took place in 1973 and '74 in the medieval castle of Wik, south of Uppsala in Sweden.
Remastered limited edition 180-gram LP. Originally BIS LP-3 from 1974, it is one of the very first recordings of Robert von Bahr. It's a simple two-mic analog recording, and an almost forgotten pearl.
