"Venus Audio Grade Records Selection Vol. 2" is a sonically outstanding compilation by Venus Records. Renowned Japanese audio journalist Yoshiyuki Ishida selected a very special selection from the audiophile label's catalogue for this compilation and says: "The key point with this compilation is that both the music and the recording are excellent. Just as you feel a uniquely satisfying feeling after a delicious meal or after viewing a masterpiece in an art gallery, listening to good sound is also a very special pleasure. The search for such a sound is my goal in audio technology, and I refer to this process as "audio perception". When good music is added to this good sound, well-being can double or even triple. When you listen to a piece, you actually enjoy both the music and the sound itself. Jazz, for example, which can be heard at a sufficient volume in front of loudspeakers, is not background music, but demands direct, uncompromising attention. That's what I call true "jazz perception" and "audio perception." It was no easy task to select just ten tracks from the extensive Venus catalogue: all tracks are characterised by a freshness in the recording, a clear demarcation of the sound by the distance between instruments and microphones and an excellent balance with reverberation – which underlines the brilliance of the recordings and performances."
All recordings on this compilation were produced, mixed and mastered by legendary sound engineer Tetsuo Hara.
Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who had previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The renowned label uses a special mastering process called "Hyper Magnum Sound" for the strictly limited double LP of "Jazz", which is cut at 33 rpm and pressed on 180 gram vinyl, which produces a powerful, present sound and is highly appreciated by audiophiles worldwide. A little hint: Venus LP reissues are only pressed once. If this is out of print, the corresponding title will be deleted from the catalogue and no longer reproduced. Collectors should therefore not wait too long to order: The releases from the "Venus Masterpiece Collection" are particularly popular!
Venus LPs are pressed only once. After the first edition has been sold, the titles will be removed from the catalogue. Collectors should therefore consider buying in good time.
