Willie Nelson Stardust

The outlaw movement brought a breath of fresh air to the stagnant country scene in the 70s. Johnny Cash had paved the way for it and musicians such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Tompall Glaser brought a new impetus to the genre with simple but lively arrangements, which had recently been lost in increasingly lifeless and unoriginal productions. Then, at the height of outlaw country, Nelson broke with all expectations and produced an album: with pop standards. With five platinum awards, his interpretation of Kurt Weill, Hoagy Carmichael and Irving Berlin songs was a resounding success.
Folk and country were not completely off the table on "Stardust". Songs like "Georgia on My Mind", "All of Me", "Moonlight in Vermont" and "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" are unmistakably Nelson. The album, produced by Stax legend Booker T. Jones, resounds in the RTI pressing for the Silver Label series for mobile fidelity in new warmth, greater stage width and with the singer's clearly contoured voice. The varnish cut was done by Paul Stubblebine.
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Silver Label
Since the beginning of 2011, MFSL has been releasing a new series of LPs under the product name Silver Label. These are remastered and cut at Mobile Fidelity on the mastering chain constructed by Tim de Paravicini and pressed on 140g vinyl at RTI in Los Angeles. With a lined rice paper inner sleeve, a protective intermediate sleeve and a sequential serial number on the outer cover, the packaging meets the same high standards as the well-known Original Master Recording series. Mobile Fidelity is planning a series of experimental releases, and in this series it is willing to make do with a copy of the master tape if the original tape cannot be made available. All LPs will be released as limited editions and are likely to become coveted collector's items.
