Wojciech Rajski guides us through the almost inexhaustible wealth of ideas energetically and sensitively, humorously and dance-like, with radiant elegance. And he brings to light details that have not yet been heard. Enjoyment without pathos. The highly acclaimed series was created between 2005 and 2015 in Sopot (Poland) and in St. John's Church in Gdansk.
But Rajski's Beethoven not only has musical qualities that go far beyond the "normal" framework, but also sets recording standards. The Inspiring Tube Sound with tube microphones from TACET, for example, is always finding new enthusiastic followers. That's why the series is now being released again, as an exclusive, limited LP box for collectors, which contains all symphonies on 9 LPs.
The vinyl was pressed at PALLAS in Germany, the transfer in the "half-speed process" was taken over by SST in Frankfurt. Pages 10, 14 and 18 are cut in the legendary "Play Backwards" process. Here you put the needle on the LP inside and the tonearm is transported outwards in the direction of the outlet groove (so please do not worry about crashing tonearms!). The anti-skating does not have to be adjusted for this. This method brings tonal advantages, as particularly dynamic passages are located further out on the LP, where there is more space for sampling high frequencies.
The LPs are pressed on 180-gram vinyl and packed in lined inner sleeves. A large-format explanation of the recordings is enclosed in German and English. The box appears in a particularly high-quality presentation in a box covered with linen with a gold border on the lid and serial numbers. The worldwide edition is limited to 1,000 copies. Each individual box is personally signed by producer and TACET mastermind Andreas Spreer.
