Hans Zimmer LIVE brings together more than two hours of new music by the star composer born in Frankfurt am Main! For the album, Hans Zimmer has arranged new "suites" based on some of the best-known themes and melodies from his Oscar-winning® film scores, including "Dune" and "The Lion King", as well as for modern film classics such as "The Dark Knight", "X Men: Dark Phoenix", "Dunkirk", "Gladiator", "Inception", "Interstellar", "Last Samurai", "Man of Steel", James Bond: "No Time to Die", "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Wonder Woman 1984".
Together with his 20-piece band "The Disruptive Collective", which includes a number of the composer's long-time musical partners, as well as with the Odessa Opera Orchestra and Choir, Hans Zimmer has created an epic musical spectacle that fuses atmospheric classical arrangements and electronic elements with the powerful sound of a rock band.
"I just wanted to produce a great album," says Zimmer, who recorded "Hans Zimmer LIVE" similar to a studio production on ten evenings of his tour of the same name in spring 2022 and spent several weeks mixing the album together with producer Stephen Lipson. I wanted to allow the music to breathe in its own context in a new way, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the fantastic team that has supported me on this adventure."
"The Disruptive Collective" brings together musicians who have worked with Hans Zimmer for a long time, such as singers and composers Lisa Gerrard (›Gladiator‹), Lebo M. (›The Lion King‹) and Loire Cutler (›X Men: Dark Phoenix‹), cellist Tina Guo (›Wonder Woman 1984‹) and Nick Glennie-Smith (musical director of the band). Other soloists include Andrew Kawczynski (synthesizer, drums), Pedro Eustache (woodwinds), Refi (vocals), Rusanda Panfili (vocals), Guthrie Govan (guitars), Andy Pask (double bass), Aicha Djidjelli (drums), Steven Doar (drums, keyboards), Molly Rogers (vocals), Juan Garcia Herreros [Snow Owl] (electric bass), Nile Marr (guitars), Leah Zeger (vocals), Holly Madge (drum kit), Aleksandra Šuklar (drums). Hans Zimmer plays a number of different instruments on the album.
