On this album, UMO's expanded line-up consists of an acoustic rhythm section, five trumpets, a French horn, three trombones, a tuba, and all five saxophonists, playing a variety of woodwind instruments, from the flute to the double bass clarinet (and just about anything else lies in between), excellent complement. Thanks to this impressive array of instruments in the hands of UMO's superb musicians, the album's soundscape is lush and fervent, and Partyka's sonorous voicings and rich harmonies provide a warm and luxurious orchestral pad for melancholic melodies and expressive improvised solos.
