Following the success of his vocal debut Chet Baker Sings in 1954, Pacific Jazz brought the rising star trumpeter back into the studio for the sequel Chet Baker Sings and Plays which showcased both sides of Baker's artistry on a set of standards including his timeless rendition of "Let's Get Lost." This mono Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket.
With his first vocal album "Chet Baker Sings" the rising trumpet star Chet Baker achieved an overwhelming success in 1954. Already the next year, his label Pacific Jazz brought Baker back into the studio for the sequel "Chet Baker Sings And Plays", this time to let him show his artistic skills as a trumpeter in addition to his vocal talent. Particularly impressive is the timeless interpretation of the dreamlike standard "Let's Get Lost", after which a celebrated documentary about Chet Baker was titled in 1988.
