Eric Alexander Joins Mabern's Trio on 180g Vinyl LP!
Harold Mabern is a hard bop, post-bop and soul jazz pianist and composer. He is described in The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings as "one of the great post-bop pianists." On this release, Mabern is joined by Nat Reeves on bass, Joe Farnsworth on drums, and Eric Alexander on tenor sax.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Harold Mabern carried the musical spirit of his hometown and since the 1950s has developed into a respected hard bop pianist who has played with many of the big names in jazz. "Kiss of Fire" is the first album in a series of releases on Venus Records, released between 2002 and 2008.
Mabern plays in a trio with Joe Farnsworth on drums and Nat Reeves on bass, special guest is saxophonist Eric Alexander.
Venus LPs are pressed only once. After the first edition has been sold out, the titles will be removed from the catalogue. Collectors should therefore consider buying in good time.
