Bob James Two Gold Coloured Vinyl

The fusion pianist and two-time Grammy winner Bob James, who is also a member of the fusion quartet "Fourplay", worked as a pianist and arranger for jazz legend Sarah Vaughan in the 60s. From 1974 to 1977, he released four genre-defining albums that now enjoy cult status in the scene: "One", "Two", "Three" and "BJ4".
By coincidence, "Two" also made a name for itself in a musical genre that was rather foreign to James, hip-hop: The intro of the Paul Simon cover "Take Me to the Mardi Gras" included on the album developed into one of the most quoted hip-hop breakbeat samples and became a piece of pop culture through Run D.M.C., among others. His 2023 album "Jazz Hands", also released by Evolution Music, is nominated for the next GRAMMY.
