The Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio delivers a soul-stirring performance with Blues For K which showcases their unparalleled musical synergy. Led by the virtuosic pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto, the trio mesmerizes with their exquisite jazz interpretations across a number of sub-styles. These pieces exude a timeless elegance that blends melodic sophistication with rhythmic finesse. Each note is imbued with emotion, transporting you to a realm of musical bliss underpinned with impeccable technique and heartfelt expression. As such the Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio left an indelible impression on jazz aficionados with this one.
Since his impressive 1974 debut on the legendary Three Blind Mice label, Japanese pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto has built a career that now spans four decades. On "Blues For K", the spirit of the legendary TBM era can be felt in every note of his trio: The reunion session dedicated to legendary TBM sound engineer Yoshihiko Kannari was recorded on June 20, 2022 at his private studio (Studio Lion) in Nasu, Tochigi. No one else succeeds as well as Kannari in capturing the magic of this outstanding trio, which also includes Hiroshi Kagawa (bass) and Hisao Osumi (drums), who deliver a rousing performance on "Blues For K" and demonstrate their unparalleled musical synergy.
The trio knows how to inspire with exquisite interpretations of a wide variety of jazz styles and radiates a timeless elegance that combines melodic sophistication with rhythmic finesse. Every note is full of emotion and takes the listener away from a fascinating world of sound. Of course, it's Yamamoto who pulls the strings, showing that his sense of space and timing has become even more amazing over the years! For him, it's never the material he chooses that matters, but how he peels out the substance of the piece with his trio and how that trio is received, which has always been an essential aspect of Tsuyoshi's recordings in the '70s.
AudioNautes pays tribute to the collaboration of the Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio with Yoshihiko Kannari, who revolutionized the jazz sound forever, with a sonically outstanding double LP, limited to 1,000 copies and numbered, which for the first time combines the two original vinyl versions, "Blues For K, Vol. 1" and "Blues For K, Vol. 2", in an elaborate box – including a detailed booklet with photos of the protagonists as well as interesting liner notes on the musicians and the recordings Sessions by AudioNautes boss Fabio Camorani.
