The celebration (100 years) starts with a 1-step double 45rpm version of Antiphone Blues (Limited Edition). It's also the 50th anniversary of this title.
The 50th Anniversary Limited Edition of Antiphone Blues! Be ready to be blown away when you experience playback of true high-fidelity recordings.
"Antiphon Blues" is a title that doesn't really need any introduction. Originally recorded in 1975 by the Proprius label in a Stockholm church and released with the catalogue number PROP 7744, the work has since been re-released in numerous versions and should now be in the repertoire of every audiophile music collector. Fabio Camorani of the Italian label AudioNautes Recordings also loves the warm, incredibly realistic sound of the recording. When his copy of the original LP wore out more and more over time and he couldn't find a sonically satisfactory replacement among the available remasters, he decided to give himself a gift and dare a new edition on his own label. The AudioNautes LP version of "Antiphone Blues", released in 2017, was highly praised by critics and music lovers and quickly became a bestseller.
To celebrate the album's 50th anniversary, ANR now presents the ultimate version of "Antiphon Blues" – as a OneStep pressing! The new edition comes as a double LP with three recorded sides on 200 gram vinyl and is cut at 45 rpm. Enjoy the music of Ellington, Domnérus, Schumann and Vivaldi in the beguiling interplay of organ and saxophone - in previously unheard sound quality and: Hurry up, this limited release will sell out quickly!
Antiphone Blues is a title that requires no introduction. A largely popular bestseller since its first edition in 1975, this Proprius recording deserved to join the collections of music lovers and audiophiles all over the world, for its extraordinary sound quality and innovative musical content. The album Antiphone Blues showcases late Swedish jazz saxophonist Arne Domnérus in duets with organist Gustav Sjökvist, recorded in Spanga Church in Sweden.
Domnérus was involved in the 1977 audiophile classic Jazz at the Pawnshop and this album has earned a similar reputation over the years for its high-quality music recordings.
Originally recorded on 26 August 1974 in Spånga church, Sweden.
