Massimo Faraò is a wonderful Italian pianist who has played and recorded with Red Holloway, Albert "Tootie" Heath, Tony Scott, Franco Ambrosetti, Nat Adderley, Jeff Tain Watts, Jack DeJohnette and Chris Potter, among others. Faraò's passionate style and stoic romanticism are very attractive along with the rich harmonies he creates.
Veteran tenor sax man Jerry Weldon joined the legendary Lionel Hampton Orchestra in 1981 and has worked with dozens of jazz luminaries over the past three plus decades.
A summit meeting of a very special kind: The American tenor saxophonist Jerry Weldon, who became famous as a member of the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and Harry Connick Jr.'s Big Band and is considered a "veteran" of the New York jazz scene as well as a leading representative of modern soul jazz, meets the fascinating trio of the Italian pianist Massimo Faraò, consisting of Nicola Barbon (bass) and Bobo Facchinetti (drums). Faraò, who has recorded with artists such as Red Holloway, Albert "Tootie" Heath, Tony Scott, Franco Ambrosetti, Nat Adderley, Jeff Tain Watts, Jack DeJohnette and Chris Potter, quickly made a name for himself with his passionate, stoic-romantic playing and the rich harmonies he creates in the process. "Grace" was recorded on October 16, 2018 at Riverside Studio in Turin, Italy, and produced, mixed and mastered by legendary sound engineer Tetsuo Hara.
Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who had previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The renowned label uses a special mastering process called "Hyper Magnum Sound" for the strictly limited double LP of "Grace", cut at 33 rpm and pressed on 180 gram vinyl, which produces a powerful, present sound and is highly appreciated by audiophiles worldwide. A little hint: Venus LP reissues are only pressed once. If this is out of print, the corresponding title will be deleted from the catalogue and no longer reproduced. Collectors should therefore not wait too long to order: The releases from the "Venus Masterpiece Collection" are particularly popular!
