The New York-born pianist Duke Jordan became famous with Charlie Parker's famous 1947 quintet. During his long music career he also worked for and with jazz greats such as Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz and Sonny Stitt / Gene Ammons. In 1982, during his third visit to Japan, So Nice Duke was created , recorded in a perfect jazz bar called So Nice in Nagoya for the Three Blind Mice label under Takeshi "Tee" Fujii ".

At the age of 60, Duke Jordan plays a number of popular jazz standards. His performance is incomparable and timeless. Combak boss Kazuo Kiuchi produced the HARMONIX Master Sound LP together with Shizuo Nomiyama; Tohru Kotetsu took care of the remastering and editing in the JVC Mastering Center on the XRCD analog mastering system using Harmonix tuning tools. The 180 g vinyl LP with 33 rpm appears in a gatefold cover with imprinted liner notes by Kazuo Kiuchi and was pressed in Japan.

The record, mastered and pressed in Japan, runs its rounds in breathtaking quality. [...] For jazz fans with high quality standards, I strongly recommend buying them.

Claus Müller. analog, edition 2/2017

With the help of Kazuo Kiuchi and his "Harmonix Tuning Tools", Tohru Kotetsu cut the band, which had already been remastered for a fine XRCD on JVC equipment, for a fantastic sounding LP.
