Yerba Buena Bounce is the tenth release from the Hot Club of San Francisco, America's oldest active gipsy jazz troupe. The quintet was inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in France. The sound of the ensemble transports the listener back to the smoky bars of the 1930s. Now for the first time as a 200g double LP with 45 rpm!

For these recordings the quintet was supported by mandolin player David Grisman and Seth Asarno on the bandoneon. The recordings were captured on the grounds of the Fantasy Studios by Professor Keith Johnson and offer the naturalness and fidelity that you are used to from Reference Recordings.

Monterey Jacques from Djangology.net wrote about this title: The Hot Club of San Francisco swings harder than anyone else. That makes the troupe the Count Basie of gypsy jazz.

The LP appears in a sturdy gatefold cover with two 200g LPs from Quality Records Pressings in an antistatic inner sleeve and was newly cut on a half-speed machine in Paul Stubblebine's studio in San Francisco.

The Hot Club of San Francisco quintet consists of:

Evan (Zeppo) Price - violin
Paul (Pazzo) Mehling - solo guitar
Jeff Magidson & Jason Vanderford - rhythm guitars
Ari Munkres - bass

180-gram or 200-gram pressing - a question that is not that easy.

For identical titles from Reference Recordings, there are covers labeled 180 g containing LPs that weigh around 200 g, and vice versa. This is due to the fact that the commissioned pressing plants QRT and RTI in the USA specify a 10 percent tolerance for weight on the one hand and then occasionally get the orders mixed up. In terms of sound, the pressings do not differ.
