Antiphone Blues is a title that doesn't really need an introduction anymore. Recorded in 1975 by the label Proprius in a Stockholm church and released with the catalog number PROP 7744, the Album has now been re-released in 14 official versions and is probably on the shelf of every audiophile. Fabio Camorani of AudioNautes in Italy also loved the warm, incredibly realistic sound of the recording. When his copy of the original LP was played so often that the wear and Tear became too great, he never again found adequate replacement among the released Remasterings. With reasonable skepticism and uncertainty about the expected result, he finally decided to try a new edition on his own Label. Not for financial reasons, but as a gift to yourself.
Pietro Benini and Roberto Barbolini took over the Remastering of the master tapes. The first 1,000 copies of this LP appear with a serial number as a reference to the first pressing. Enjoy the music of Ellington, Domnérus, Schumann and Vivaldi in the captivating Interplay of organ and saxophone in excellent sound quality.
"In fact, I owe some of the most beautiful listening moments of recent times to the new release of the classic, now presented by the Italian label AudioNautes Recording.Yes, with it, I have discovered the supposedly dulled work almost anew. [...] Apart from the fact that our perfectly produced test pattern ran practically without noise, the offered spaciousness in combination with tonal homogeneity and breathing liveliness strikes the listener the speech." - Matthias Böde, STEREO, issue 4/2019
"The present result of the new cut does justice to the album title - the antiphon principle (alternating vocals, in gospel music referred to as "Call and Response") unfolds its full beauty here. But Beware! The elegant sounding saxophone occasionally activates dynamic reserves without warning and burdens the scanning system with a lot of hard work." - Winfried Dulisch, Fidelity, Edition 9/10 2018
"The result: the elegantly swinging saxophone activates dynamic reserves and demands heavy work from the scanning system, but with a fascinating result." - Winfried Dulisch, Stereoplay, Issue 8/2018
