Dan Fogelberg is still considered one of the most influential American singer-songwriters in recent US music history. Almost all critics and especially his loyal fan community agree on this. Fogelberg, who was discovered by Irving Azoff, who later became manager of the Eagles, and REO Speedwagon, played in the early seventies as a session musician and with artists such as Van Morrison, Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles and Jackson Browne. "Souvenirs", his second album as a solo artist, produced by guitarist Joe Walsh, finally gave him his long-awaited breakthrough in 1974 and made him a star overnight.
