Little Feat was founded by the late, great Lowell George and made music that was loose, funky, literary and impossible to classify. "Sailin' Shoes" was released in 1972 and captured the band just as their legend was taking shape – a mix of astute stories and swampy grooves that defined the cool factor of the early '70s. From "Willin'" and "Easy To Slip" to the boastful title track, it's a masterclass in Southern California songwriting with a touch of Louisiana. These songs shaped the legend of Little Feat as one of the most distinctive voices in rock. The album, produced by Tod Templeman, was voted number 469 on the third edition of Colin Larkin's All Time Top 1000 Albums.
