The soundtrack for The Mercy features music by Jóhann Jóhannsson (Arrival, mother!).

The traditional label Deutsche Grammophon is releasing the soundtrack to the film "The Mercy", which will be released in March 2018. Johann Johannsson is now composing the second soundtrack for the new film by director James Marsh.
The film is a biographical drama starring Colin Firth, Rachel Weisz and David Thewlis. The film tells the story of businessman and amateur athlete Donald Crowhurst, who takes part in a solo sailing regatta in a self-designed boat. His goal is to set the record for the fastest circumnavigation on Earth. With the cash prize to be won, the inexperienced sailor wants to improve his weakening company and give his family a better life. Since there are problems from the beginning, Donald decides to cheat and gives a wrong position one last time on 29.6.1969. Since then, he has been considered missing.
With this soundtrack, the Icelandic composer strengthens his successful collaboration with British director James Marsh. The captivating music combined with the incredible and true story about Donald Crowhurst is a cinematic highlight.
