OST Eddie And The Cruisers by John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band

The American band John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band celebrated their first successes in the early 1980s. Two self-published singles sold well and were played up and down on the radio - but the contract with a major label did not materialize. The international breakthrough came with a fan, producer Kenny Vance. Based on the bestseller Eddie & The Cruisers , a new film was to be created under his direction - and Vance offered the band to contribute the soundtrack. While the box office remained largely empty and the film had to take bitter criticism, the soundtrack achieved cult status thanks to numerous television broadcasts. It climbed into the top 10 and received triple platinum status.

Eddie And The Cruisers includes the hit single On The Dark Side and is reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen in terms of style and vocals. The remastering for Audio Fidelity was done by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. The 180 g vinyl LP with 33 rpm appears in a limited edition with consecutive serial numbers.

Kevin Gray took care of a powerful remastering for Audio Fidelity, which compared to an import direct metal mastering pressing of the album makes it sound a bit slack.
