On the occasion of the 110th birthday and 25th anniversary of the death of conductor Sir Georg Solti, who was responsible for the first complete studio recordings of Wagner's "Der Ring der Nibelungen", these were reissued in 2022 and 2023.
The original tapes of the "Rheingold" from 1958 were extensively restored under the direction of Andrew Wedman (formerly Emil Berliner Studios) and mastered by DECCA engineer Philip Sidney. And the effort was worth it! Enjoy the Wagner classic with great casts such as George London, Set Svanholm, Gustav Neidlinger and Kirsten Flagstad as well as the Vienna Philharmonic, in the first-class hybrid SACD format.
