"We Get Requests" is Peterson's last album production with the label "Verve" after a 14-year collaboration before joining MPS. Producer Jim Davis focused on capturing the authentic live sound in the studio; The result is a lively and fine recording, which conveys the great harmony of the trio through many years of interaction in the same line-up with Ray Brown on bass and Ed Thigpen on drums. The recordings took place in 1964 at the RCA Studios in New York.
We Get Requests is a 1964 album by the Oscar Peterson Trio. On this release, pianist Oscar Peterson is joined by bassist Ray Brown and drummer Ed Thigpen.
Oscar Peterson has an extensive discography of his trio and quartet recordings, as well as his recordings with many of the other jazz greats. His varied albums include recordings with Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Roy Eldridge, Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins and Joe Pass. His worldwide performances and his recordings, particularly those with his trios and quartets, brought him recognition from numerous places all around the world.
This title is a SHM-SACD. This format is the further development of the single-layer SACD and uses a particularly light-transparent plastic (Super High Material). It achieves a significantly better readability of the pit-land structures on the surface than is possible with hybrid SACDs. Universal's SHM-SACDs are generally re-digitized from the master tapes of the albums to DSD without any changes. SHM-SACDs can be played on any SACD player. Please do not use L'Art du Son or alcohol-based cleaning products. – Attention: All tracks are designed by Universal Music as limited edition collectibles for the Japanese market.
