Diana Krall All For You SHM-SACD

Her hot-cold voice and piano finesse have taken her from a jazz tip to an international superstar with gold albums and sold-out concerts over the last twenty years. "All For You", the Canadian's third release, is a tribute album to the Nat King Cole Trio and was released in 1996 - before Diana Krall achieved international fame. Despite the more commercially successful albums that were to follow later, it is "All For You" that inspires critics the most to this day. The very personal piano interpretations on a Hamburg Steinway grand piano, the discreet but top-class band accompaniment and Krall's almost eerily present voice testify to the musician's deep fascination for the work of the legendary singer and pianist Nat King Cole.
Before recording in New York in October 1995, Diana Krall had been on tour for months with guitarist Russell Malone and bassist Paul Keller. She was convinced that the fascination of the work of the Nat King Cole Trio could only be captured if a homogeneous band played and not a ragtag of studio musicians. Only rarely in jazz is it possible to prepare a song precisely and yet accessible without drums. "All For You" is a lesson on this topic. Only on "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" Steve Kroons' percussion takes over its important part.
As part of the popular "Verve Acoustic Sounds Series", Universal Music Japan presents the sonically impressive remastering of this jazz classic – as a limited Japan SHM SACD, in a mini LP cardboard sleeve with OBI stripe. The original recording sessions for "All For You: A Dedication To The Nat King Cole Trio" took place on October 3-8, 1995 at Power Station Studios, New York City.
This title is an SHM-SACD. This format is a further development of the single-layer SACD and uses a particularly light-transparent plastic (Super High Material). It achieves a much better readability of the pit-land structures on the surface than is possible with hybrid SACDs. Universal's SHM SACDs are generally re-digitized from the albums' master tapes to DSD without any changes. SHM SACDs can be played on any SACD player. Please do not use L'Art du Son or alcohol-based cleaning products. – Attention: All tracks are designed by Universal Music as collector's items in limited edition for the Japanese market.
