Tiny Island Tiny Island Hybrid Multi-Channel & Stereo SACD

In 1989, guitarist and multi-string instrumentalist Göran Wennerbrandt founded the band Tiny Island. From 1993 onwards, Tiny Island operated as "Needed Time" in the course of the very close cooperation with Eric Bibb as his backing band in an identical line-up. Wennerbrandt is also responsible as executive producer for the two Bibb albums "Spirit And The Blues" and "Good Stuff". The purely instrumental and difficult to categorize music of Tiny Island is characterized by blues, calypso, a pinch of Buena Vista Social Club, oriental elements and Nordic moods. In addition to the band members' own compositions, there is also a grandiose cover version of the Taj Mahal title "When I Feel The Sea Beneath My Soul".
On this, Tiny Island's debut CD they play instrumental music with ingredients from near and far - warm island breezes, a trace of oriental spice and Nordic mood. All the music has been composed by members of the band with the exception of one piece by Taj Mahal. One possible way of having a conception of Tiny Island´s music is to consider the members of the band and their instrumentation."
"The recordings were made from November 98 in an old stone church in the Swedish province. Opus 3 boss Jan-Eric Persson recorded the sessions on a Telefunken M28-C with minimal miking: two Mikes in a 90-degree Blumlein arrangement, only the acoustic double bass received an additional "support". The pieces are correspondingly intimate, holistic and atmospheric, which, in combination with the catchy, contemplative tunes from their own pen and without any kitsch, seem like messengers from a healer, more peaceful world to console us over the current impositions.
