Peder Af Ugglas Autumn Shuffle Hybrid Multi-Channel & Stereo SACD

Peder Af Ugglas is a guitar magician who does not have to shy away from any international comparison: equally at home on the electric and acoustic guitar and the blues as a basis, he offers a highly interesting mix, sensitive and soulful, of rock, jazz, fusion, world music and classical influences. His range is sometimes reminiscent of David Lindley, sometimes of Ry Cooder and sometimes of Peter Green – but he always and unmistakably sounds like Af Ugglas! On "Autumn Shuffle", his debut album, all the tracks were penned by him. In addition to guitars, he also plays piano, keyboards and occasionally electric bass. The last title of the album is particularly impressive: "A Hymn". Recorded in Stockholm's largest church, Af Ugglas celebrates a slide guitar anthem of a very special kind in a duo with Mattias Wager on the organ! In addition to his work as a musician, Af Ugglas has also made a name for himself as a producer and studio musician over the past ten years, working with the cream of Swedish musicians, including Louise Hoffsten.
Starting at an early age Peder taught himself boogie-woogie on piano later turning to classical music. However the call of rock and jazz became predominant with the music of Louis Armstrong, Jan Johansson and the Rolling Stones among the main sources of his inspiration.
Later the guitar became his main instrument. Nevertheless, all types of keyboards and piano continues to play a significant role in his musical productions. He has worked together with many prominent Swedish artists, including Louise Hoffsten, Anders Widmark, Stefan Sundström and Sara Isaksson, producing several of Stefan's albums and Sara's latest. He also played in the Bob Manning band for a number of years.
For about the last ten years he has composed the music for exhibitions of the work of artists Christer Themptander and Hasse Lindroth, as well as composing music for both cinema and television films. His approach to his own music is characterized and very much influenced by impressions and experiences, atmosphere and feelings.
Together with harmonica-player and vocalist Björn Hamrin, who was co-producer of this album, he has the band Topolinos - a band from which many of the musicians on this album are drawn.
