Fogelberg, who initially worked as a session musician, played as the opening act for Van Morrison, among others, and quickly became part of the Californian music scene around artists such as Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, J. D. Souther and Jackson Browne. "Home Free", his first album, received only a restrained response, but the second album "Souvenirs", produced by guitarist Joe Walsh with the single hit "Part Of The Plan", brought him his breakthrough. The list of artists featured on the album reads like a "Who's Who" of the music scene of the time: Gerry Beckley (America), Al Perkins, Ross Kunkel, Don Henley (Eagles), Kenny Passarelli, Russ Kunkel, Graham Nash, Paul Harris, Glenn Frey and many more. but one of them. The numbered hybrid SACD, strictly limited to 2,000 copies, comes with a 24-page deluxe booklet with comprehensive liner notes by Charles L. Granata, archive material and new interviews with many of the contributors who contributed to the creation of the album. Chris Bellman is responsible for the remastering at Bernie Grundman Mastering.
