Arne Domnerus Antiphone Blues UHQCD

"Antiphone Blues" is a title that doesn't really need an introduction. Recorded in 1975 by the Proprius label in a Stockholm church and released with the catalog number PROP 7744, the album has been re-released in numerous versions and is probably on the shelf of every audiophile.
Fabio Camorani of AudioNautes in Italy also loves the warm, incredibly realistic sound of the recording. However, when his copy of the original LP was played so often that the wear and tear became too great, he never found an adequate replacement among the remasterings that were released. With appropriate skepticism and uncertainty about the expected result, he finally decided to try a new edition on his own label. Not for financial reasons, but as a gift to yourself. The 2017 LP version was highly praised by critics and music lovers alike.
At the time of its release, Camorani was already thinking about releasing a UHQCD of the title. In 2022, he realized this project. Pietro Benini, Fabio Camorani and Fabio Fornari took over the remastering, the production was done by Memory Tech in Japan.

UHQCD stands for Ultimate High Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development of the Japanese CD replication company Memory-Tech and the Audio Quality CD Company from Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate, but are cast from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. To protect the softer photopolymer from scratching, another layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied. The combination results in a significantly reduced reflection of the laser light inside the CD and an unrivalled precise edge transition between pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with normal CD players. Musically, the result is a sound that is strongly reminiscent of analogue master tapes.
