Astor Piazolla and His Tango Quintet Live in Lugano UHQCD

Astor Piazzolla takes us on a sensual and creative journey to Argentina. The bandoneon player and composer revolutionized Tango Argentino and created the "Tango Nuevo" from the mid-1950s - his name is mentioned in the same breath as this style. But this art form brought a lot of unrest into his life: traditionalists threatened him if he dared to change the original sounds. At the same time, he became a national hero in the course of his career. The classic Argentino was no longer danceable in the traditional sense, but something new, exciting, groundbreaking was created. The sonic expedition is a great pleasure, invites the listener to listen closely, but also to immerse himself in another world.
UHQCD stands for Ultimate High Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development of the Japanese CD replication company Memory-Tech and the Audio Quality CD Company from Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate, but cast from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. To protect the softer photopolymer from scratches, another layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied. The combination results in a significantly reduced reflection of the laser light inside the CD and an unrivalled precise edge transition between the pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with normal CD players. Musically, the sound is strongly reminiscent of analogue master tapes.
